I like this quote. It can apply to almost anything; love, work, life…
Love because when you meet that person for the first time, you may feel a spark or not. But after sharing precious moments, and learning about each other, you soon find him/her to be one of the most important person in your life. You may not know what to do without them. And when you look back, you would realize how different your life would have been if you’ve never met him/her.
Work because it could be an object. When you first learn a skill or take on a task. You may not know the immediate importance. You will hate working long hours, and sleepless nights. You will begin to question the significance of the assignment, but when you look back at the work that you’ve accomplished, you’ll know the impact of it.
Life because every situation we encounter, we may not fully understand why it has occurred and may ask ourselves “Why me?” It is not until later on, when you look back, you realized that if that did not happen, you would not be where you are now.
Just like Steve Jobs said:
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the wellworn path, and that will make all the difference.”
To summarize, you just have to trust your guts. Some how, and in some way, the dots will eventually connect.
